Why Many Evolutionists Will Never Believe…

An internet blog comment yesterday reads:

I am now making the offer of 100 gazillionmilliontrillion dollars and a steak to one single person or group to definitively prove the existence of a creator God or creation at all.

The ground:
- Must be physical proof that science will never be able to refute.
- Must be proof that logic cannot defy.
- Must have God itself present said proof.

At first glance, it seems like an innocent question. But this is like saying, “I will only believe in God if he exists on a playing field of my own definition. Here’s the playing field: Referencing only physical proof, prove the supernatural exists.” But the logic is skewed. The logic problem is clearly seen when using the same argument in the other direction: “Referencing only the supernatural, prove the physical universe exists.” Essentially we’ve carefully padded our challenge against failure by insisting up front that all evidence to the contrary be considered invalid. The challenge boils down to: “Without reference to the supernatural, prove supernatural reality exists,” and is akin to saying “Without reference to presently observable physical proof, prove physical reality exists.”

Private Profits and Social Losses

I think this is an interesting article. The tack that our country has taken, to privatize profits yet socialize losses, puts the burden for someone else’s mistakes squarely on the shoulders of you the taxpayer. Now that bank CEOs can no longer pay for their plush offices with remote-controlled La-Z-Boy, now I must make the La-Z-Boy payments myself. But I’m still not allowed to sit in the chair and enjoy its benefits. Yet when that CEO makes a good decision and makes a profit, he doesn’t have to share it with me – he gets to keep it all to himself and his company. So at its core, this is Middle-Ages Feudalism, where us peasants (American Middle Class) have no choice but to pay to insure the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I agree that it is difficult to gauge the proper balance of government regulation of economic industries. But on the other token, I’m against socialized welfare to cover other people’s bad decisions. It just perpetuates the myth that many Americans operate in…that we can swallow poison and not be harmed. How do Americans swallow poison? Here are some of the ways. 

How to Win an Atheist or Agnostic to Faith in Jesus

Keep an even keel, eyes focused on Jesus and what he wants you to do. Be careful to treat others with God’s love. No athiest or agnostic can deny love in action. Keep the armor of God on (faith, hope, love, God’s word), and refocus any discussions of ‘conservative values’ onto what Jesus actually said or did – then Jesus, not us, becomes the authority they must contend with.  If everyone lived by Jesus’ words, there would be no AIDS, ENRON corruption, war in Iraq, or sex offenders down the street. There would be no locks on doors, SPAM, identity theft, or rude drivers.

Hillary Clinton – World’s Brightest Investor

Hillary Clinton earned a 9700% annual profit one year, trading cattle futures as a completely inexperienced day trader. Wow! As explained in this article, the odds of such a return in ANY market by someone completely new to day trading are unfathomable. Hillary Clinton made close to a 10,000% return on a $1000 investment in HER FIRST YEAR OF DAY TRADING in the late 1970’s, stopping just short of $100k. With such a knack, it would have been smart for her to take 1 year off politics, taken out a 1-year loan for $200,000, invested it for a single year, earned a 10,000% return, and made 20 million dollars in 1979 dollars. And why stop there? That money, invested astutely through the 1980s and then through the 1990’s web bubble. Hillary Clinton, commenting on her astounding return on investment, said, “I got lucky”. If so, then I’m thinking perhaps the theory of evolution (origin of life without  any design influence) is possible after all.

Detroit Home for $1

A house in Detroit sold for $1 recently. Why? Because many Detroit residents are resorting to idiotic behavior – idiotic because their pillaging of vacant homes has in turn decreased the values of their own properties. Let’s face it, folks. If you strip siding and copper off a vacant house in the city in which you live, what do you think will happen to your own property’s value? But much of the blame falls on Detroit’s playboy mayor and his blatant mismanagement of the city, which has done nothing to improve Detroit’s crumbling neighborhoods. Mayor Kwayme Kilpatrick has a growing rap sheet, and lately he’s been shoving people like a 3rd grade school bully while berating an African-American woman for riding in a car with a Caucasian man named White. Obviously Detroit’s mayor is too busy starring in a reality soap opera to think up policies that would revive Detroit property values.

This Smacks of Design!

Over the past few years I’ve read portions of a monster 1500 page standard college textbook titled “Molecular Biology of The Cell – 4th Edition”. (You can read this excellent book online for free here.) Commonly referred to by the acronym MBOC, the fourth edition was published in 2002, and the fifth edition is now out - due in part to the rapid increase (explosion) of knowledge in our current times, one of the two signs that Daniel the prophet was told would characterize the last days (Daniel 21:4). The authors are, to my knowledge, strict evolutionists. Yet these guys use all the descriptions you’d use for the greatest of engineered systems. This smacks of design! Here’s how they describe the systems and processes that run life at the molecular level:

The case of Richard Cooey is completely ludicrous. The man claims he’s too fat to execute. That they wouldn’t be able to find his veins easily. That his migraine headache drug may prevent him from fully losing consciousness when injected with thiopental, the drug used to put inmates to sleep prior to administering the actual lethal drugs.  His attorneys say that his resulting execution could be excruciating.
